Who we support

We’re humble about what we do, but if you’ve played on one of the local playgrounds we have helped build, enjoyed free skating at the large ice arena, free swimming at the Aquafun Centre  or raced to find to find eggs at the Annual Easter Egg Hunt, you’ve benefited from some of the things the Kinsmen Club of Taber has contributed to our community. Essentially, if there is a local need – whether it’s infrastructure, non-profit organizations, teams or individuals working hard to uplift the community of Taber – we do our best to support it. How to apply for funding

Our greatest passion at the Kinsmen Club of Taber is creating growth and possibility in our community. That’s why we take the process of choosing new projects very seriously. Our club investigates, researches and decides upon the most pressing needs for donations and support. 

Some criteria that must be considered are that groups/initiatives must be not-for-profit, and all applicants must demonstrate how their initiative benefits our community. We may ask you to make a presentation to our club as part of your application. Learn if you’re eligible to apply for funding and how to get the application process started.

Part of something good

The Kinsmen Club of Taber is proud to be one of the more than 400 clubs that operate under the Kin Club of Canada banner. Kin Canada is an all-Canadian service organization comprising over 6000 active community volunteers nationwide. Founded in 1920, Kin Canada clubs have donated more than $1 billion to Canadian causes, communities and individuals, and international disaster relief efforts. Kin Canada has raised over $47 million to support the work of Cystic Fibrosis Canada and is a Partner for Life with Canadian Blood Services. 

Kin Canada does not receive any of the funds the Kinsmen Club of Taber raises in our community. That money is used only for local programs that benefit our community. Kin Canada’s programs and services are financed primarily through members’ annual dues.

In this way, members from coast to coast are enhancing the quality of life in their communities and across the world through the national efforts of Kin Canada.

About the Kinsmen Club of Taber

The Kinsmen Club of Taber is a non-profit service club that raises funds for projects and initiatives that benefit our community. With the help of volunteers, supporters and donors, we improve local facilities, enrich sports and arts organizations and reward young leaders with annual scholarships. Our group is led by a group of volunteers dedicated to making Taber an even better place to live, work and raise a family. 

Since 1972, we have served some of Taber’s greatest needs through ongoing seed and project funding of programs and capital projects.
